Why a programme?
Most lists of Christmas films are just that: lists. We wanted something closer to the printed programme of a good repertory cinema, with a sense of order, a little history for each title and practical notes on when and with whom to watch it. So the site is arranged in four reels, read top to bottom like a screening schedule.
How we choose
We favour films and specials that have proved themselves over years of rewatching, alongside newer titles we think are on their way to becoming traditions. Every fact, from release years to directors and runtimes, is checked against reliable sources such as the BFI, the BBFC, studio press materials and contemporary reporting. Runtimes vary slightly between versions; we give the commonly listed figure.

We are not affiliated with any film studio, broadcaster or streaming service, we don't accept payment for recommendations and we don't run affiliate links. Titles and names mentioned belong to their respective owners and are discussed for commentary and guidance.
